A couple of years ago Buffalo Wild Wings was supposedly going to build a place on Restaurant Row somewhere between Olive Garden and the new bank (Progressive?). I don't know what happened with that.

I'd love to see a Greek restaurant in Cookeville, too.

If I had the money, I'd quit my job and open an old fashioned ice cream parlor in the Cream City building! With the Depot across the street and the children's museum around the corner, and the university just a few blocks away, I think it would be a big hit.

There used to be an ice cream parlor/soda shop on Broad near the Square. It was so cool, it was a big huge old soda fountain from the 1920s in the back of an old drug store. Well the owners retired, the Methodist church bought it, tore it down and built a church addition (where that skywalk is now). There were a bunch of people in town who mourned the loss of that soda shop/ice cream parlor.

Wanted to try the wings @ Bilmar Station the other day, but my son was with me & you have to be 21 to get in there. Maybe I'll pick up some carryout someday. Want to try a lot of the local places, haven't had much of a chance yet.

Chains I'd like to see here:

Panera Bread
Buffalo Wild Wings
Red Robin
Culver's

Yes, I believe Jackson Street Grill was closed a couple of months ago. I would LOVE to see Culver's, as the only time I get there is when we go to Wisconsin. Also, we prefer Jason's Deli over Panera Bread, even though Christy's is actually very good, too.

Bilmar's wings are right up there with Moogie's as the best in town in my opinion.Maybe even better! I can only speak for the Bilmar's 19th hole on E. 10th St. though, never been to the one on Jefferson... (Try the garlic-parmesean!...)

As for my favorite, my wife, son, and I are all really into Taiko right about now! Everything we've had there has been great but the sushi is especially awesome!

For more chain restaurants, I would like to see Chipotle and Pei Wei. Also a Chicago style pizza/sandwich restaurant that had thin crust & deep dish, italian beef sandwiches, sausage, combos...

And not to put Ralph's down (THE BEST DONUTS!!!), but I LOVE Dunkin Donuts Coffee...

I have actually looked into a franchise of a Chicago pizza chain but just don't have the funds to do it right now. I think it would be very succesful here, I have a friend to owns one of their franchises and it is doing well. And yes, they do beef sandwiches, etc as well.

We finally got moved to Cookeville in May of this year. In spite of unpacking way too many boxes, we have been checking out the eateries. Have been very impressed with the variety of selection so far but have not found pizza to our taste yet and still checking out the BBQ selection. Miss that there is no all U eat catfish.
Love the area. We expect to see many more retirees move to this area in the coming years.
