Realtor suggestion for Cookeville area?
My wife are looking at retirement in the Cookeville/Putnam County area and we'll be driving down there to see the area in early September 2009. We'd like to speak with a realtor and potentially even see what housing or land is available in our price range, so does anyone have suggestions for a realtor or realty company in this area? We're in our mid-50's and would like property with a bit of acreage, if that matters, with a potential to retire in a few years. Many thanks in advance!

I just sent you a DM with the name and contact info for a realtor friend of mine in Cookeville who has helped several people in this forum find their ideal home in and around Cookeville. Good luck!

I see that JMT sent you info, but I sent you our contact person as well. After years of buying & selling property from Virginia to Idaho to Arizona to Tennessee, I have only dealt with one Realtor that I am totally comfortable recommending. Good luck with your search

I've lived in a lot of different cities and towns in Tennessee, and I LOVE Cookeville. You can still find land inside Cookeville (I built a house 3 years ago on 14 acres of land, about 5 minutes from the middle of town), but you may also want to try looking around other towns in the county like Algood or Baxter.

Daisymaegogo - thanks for the tip on searching for acreage closer or within Cookeville limits, as I had assumed that no acreage was available close to town. A quick search revealed that is not the case and I've found a number of properties that might suit our needs. We're planning to come down to visit during the first week of November to check out Cookeville and see some properties. I'll post our impressions. Thanks again.
