Default city and county property taxes?

Hi everybody, planning on moving to east Tn area really like what I read in the forums about Maryville.I've been to a couple of real estate sites and looked at homes in maryville and noticed that some of houses had city and county property taxes. Is this true ?or did I just read it wrong

You read correctly. If you live in Blount County, you pay Blount County property taxes. If you live in the city limits of Maryville, you'll also pay Maryville property taxes in addition to Blount County property taxes since Maryville is in Blount County.

This is the case in every county in Tennessee. You have to pay property taxes to the county in which you own property, and if your property is within a city then you'll have to also pay city property taxes.
