atpeace.. I share your desire for a slower paced life and your wish to be around good, sincere and caring people. I too am feeling the pull to go south and if the people on this board are the ones I will find in Tenn., I will be thrilled to make the move. I long to share the good times and the bad ones also with neighbors and friends who care about each other with no strings attached. I have just about given up on finding that here on Long Island. Life is too short to waste on being around miserable people. Hope we both find what we are looking for.

Here's one from overconjested Long Island- wanting a place that you really feel at home as well-

TOTALLY understand where your daydreams are coming from. My husband and I (our two kids) and my parents as well are all planning on vacation around the Knoxville area to do some scouting in August!

Sounds like a beautiful, yet affordable state! My house here, increased over 100K in 3 years! I couldn't afford to buy my house now !

Well I am definitely coming to tn within the next 30 days. My wife told me 5 days b4 our 8th wedding anniversary that she doesnt love me anymore and she would like me to leave. I was absolutely floored as there was never any indication of existing trouble. Now more than ever I could use help to get to a place where i may start new. My whole life has been absolutely crushed and need to start new. My only hope is that maybe, just maybe she will realize some day the bond we had and come on down with me

Default starting point
Could anyone please reccomend a starting point as I will be just packing up and driving in. I will need to get a place to stay with minimal financial burden as I will also have to find employment.It will also need to be a place full of friendly people as I yearn to make new friends
