Default Who do I call to get electric/water service in Cookeville, Overton County?

Last year my hubby and I purchased 15 acres in Overton County, but the mailing address is in Cookeville. We have an old barn on the property that we "camp" in when we visit from northern Illinois. I'd like to run electric and water to the barn to make staying there a little less primitive. Can some kind soul give me direction on what public utility to call to set this stuff up? I'm not sure if I call Overton County, Cookeville or Livingston.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Lori

I would suggest that you start by calling the Livingston or Cookeville office of Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation 615-735-2940

Chances are good that they are the provider. If not, they can give you the name of the provider based on the address.
Good luck

Soulful beat me to it!

I believe--although I'm not 100% sure--that your electricity will come from Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corp which covers most of Smith, Overton, Jackson, and Putnam counties outside of the city of Cookeville. Since you're in Overton County I assume you'd go to their Livingston office:

320 Celina Hwy
Livingston, TN 38570
931-823-1213

Their Cookeville office:

1794 W Broad Street
Cookeville, TN 38501
931-528-5449

I believe the water in your area is provided by the West Overton Utility District:

684 Rickman Monterey Hwy
Rickman, TN 38580
931-498-4144

Good luck!

Thanks for your quick response and good information. If anybody else is curious, it's $1275 for a water meter, and 95 cents a foot from the road to where you want a pole with electricity. Guess we'll start saving our pennies
