Hello there,
You might want to see a site called craigslist.org. They have housing and will show you types available. Very useful. Let me know if that helps! |

Just be careful using craigslist. It is useful . . . it's also full of con artists and scams. Do not send anyone money. Wait until you get here. And if they even ask you to send money by Western Union or other wire methods . . .run, don't walk, away.

Check the Gatlinburg paper---themountainpress.com. Lots of ads for rentals in there.

The area is very touristy - lots of traffic, and all of that - but you can always find respite in the beautiful Smoky Mountains National Park.
There are a lot of young people that come over here from other countries, especially Russia, to work. I'm surprised that the program that got you the job did not have information on where you can stay. You might want to check. I hope you have a wonderful summer. Welcome to Tennessee! And your English is great! ![]() |

I'm embarassed
What about the program... It's worlwide practice and only some of emploers provide housing for students, usually students have to find it by themselves. And it's not working program...for most of us it's opportunity to see new places and meet amercian culture, and practice english of cause. Now I have only one problem: I dont know how I can get to Gatlinburg from Knoxville. There are no any buses going there...and certanly I dont want to pay over for taxi. Do you know what might help me? |

I didn't know that. I thought they provided housing.
I have no idea. I would contact the employer and have someone pick you up. |

The folks who run the Knoxville Hostel also run a bus to Gatlinburg. They may occasionally do pickup from the airport, but I'm not sure about that. It would be more direct if you could get your employer to send someone to pick you up, though.
