Beware, All can say is the swine flu is here in Cookeville.
All can say is the swine flu is here in Cookeville. I think I might move into a cave for 6 months.
Wonder if it's a good idea to buy these masks,
N95 Mask, Folded and Individually Wrapped, Swine and Bird Mask from Amazon.

I've posted on another thread that my wife works in a doc office...and they aren't running around yelling the sky is falling...
They say the masks are "somewhat useful" in helping to keep YOU from spreading the germs to OTHERS...but of very little use in stopping it the other way around. It's useful for you in the event that you sneeze that it does not spread nearly so far.
It is so widespread now in Tennessee that if someone has true flu symptoms (a persistent fever over 102 that is not responsive to treatment, body aches) it is assumed it is swine flu.

If there is no problem with the public knowing this then why did Cookeville hospital keep it quiet? I've been told the hospital didn't want this to be made public.

Keep what quiet and didn't wan the public to know what...that there's swine flu in Tennessee, in Cookeville, or that masks won't keep you from getting swine flu?
I don't think it's any secret that it's here...it's just another form of the flu, perhpas a little stronger...the treatment is the same as for any other flu. Tens of thousands die in this country every year--about 30,000--from the flu.

I just got over swine flu... Just get it and get over it. You know you'll have to eventually anyway. It sucked, but I've had much worse strains of the flu in the past.
Furthermore, I heard something about Cookeville Regional and Cumberland Medical Center and swine flu on the radio. One or both are asking for children not to visit patients as they are the more frequent carriers of the flu, and both hospitals are dealing with swine flu outbreaks. I would hope they are not trying to keep it hushed.

All I know is the hospital was keeping a lid on the people with the swine flu for some reason. The problem with people like me with medical conditions it could become real bad if not life threating.

How does a hospital keep the lid on something like that anyway? I know despite HIPAA, around here if a case of ebola showed up, you'd hear about it...the hospital admission list might not be on the radio like it used to be, but you hear about issues at the hospital.
