okay i'm a new yorker, but a country girl at heart.
i'v always wanted to move to the south, and finally i have the chance. i am 24 years old, single and looking for the following in a place. if you think you know of a good place for me, PLEASE TELL *a lot of friendly people, people that basiclaly know you so preferably a small town, but not TOO small. *not a city feel, more of a small town feel. with quaint little shops that might sell nick-nacks, a supermarket, some restaurants, some places for a young girl to hang out. *horseback riding is a major plus. i would LOVE to have a house with a stable sometime in my future. i'v taken lessons for a few years now. *a good community, low crime-good schools, etc. * i like the outdoors. so the more there is to do outdoors the better for me. if you know of ANY PLACE. please tell all =) thank you. |

Well.......tell us more about what you are looking for and maybe we can help you out better.
So far: Horses....yep got a bunch of areas where there are lots of those and space to ride, plenty of rodeos too if that is what you like. Friendly folks...yep, got lots of those too. ![]() Small town...yep, got quite a few of those. Low crime.....yep Good schools...yep, bunch of those. Outdoors....yep, miles and miles and miles of some of the most beautiful mountains and "outdoors" views you'll find anywhere. That covers just about the entire state of TN so tell us a bit more so we can help you narrow it down if TN is really what you might be looking for. ![]() |

If you look at their web sites here at city-data.com I believe you'll see some pictures of the towns. Other people in this forum have posted pictures of Jonesborough and Monterey, so if you do a search for "Jonesborough pictures" or "Monterey pictures" or "photos" or something like that, you should find some posts. Good luck! |

There are also small towns in the stretch between Greeneville and Johnson City such as Afton, Telford, Chucky, Limestone and a few others that might fit your bill. I have not been to Monterey so I can't offer anything on that. JMT knows what he is talking about though.
