Default Jobs In Fayetteville Tennessee

I am interested in moving from Florida to Fayetteville,TN in January. I have questions. How easy or difficult is it to find general employment in that area? Are there a lot of mountains in that area? Is there public transportation? Do they have a pitbull ban? Does anyone know the height regulation for a 4x4? I hear racism isn't really a big issue in that area. Is that true? Any helpful information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Default Fayetteville

There are plenty of jobs available, and more on the way, with the BRAC working with Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville is a short commute.
We do have mountains and hills all around. Huntsville has some good ones also.
Public Transport is not very good in Fayetteville.
People can have pitbulls, but there are regulations within the city limits. In the county, it is more relaxed.
Racism is not a big problem here, but some bad apples can make everyone look bad.

Almost no jobs IN Fayetteville. If there are any, they generally are low paying. It's a place that's tough to get a job without knowing folks. If you are tech oriented, nearby Huntsville is great. If not tech oriented, much less so.

I would call the area hilly, but not mountainous by a long stretch. Lots of rolling hills. I don't think the highest point in the county is much over 1000' elevation. Real pretty county...green, lush.

The public transportation system is such that many don't know there is one.

No pitbull ban. Jamtazm is right about the city/county thing.

Don't know about the 4x4 thing.

Racism is about like any where--present on all sides. Not aware of any action taken on those feelings. Now, don't you think it's rampant, it's not...folks get along and most get along well, but again, jamtazm said it...there's always some knuckleheads.

Mostly because I've always wanted to live in Tennessee. It's affordable, beautiful and closer to Indiana, where I am from originally. Partially because Fayetteville came to me in a dream and now won't leave my head. Strange, right? I didn't even know it existed until then. Is it a bad choice?

How is your winter weather? Shoud I wait until spring to move?

Well, I don't think it's a bad choice...I'm here by choice and it suits me very well.

Winter weather is usually mild by northern standards...can be very wet. If we get snow (or ice) it usually is light and only lasts a day or three at the most...usually. Often the winter temps are kind of roller coaster...2, 3, 4 days of colder weather, (lows below freezing, highs in oh, say the low 40s) followed by 2,3,4 days of highs in the 50s and even 60s sometimes.
A winter move probably shouldn't be problematic. Good chance of it being wet, but not a real problem because of closed roads, snow drifts, needing sled dogs, etc.

Let us know what you end up doing!

I just bought 10 acres in Fayetteville Tennessee. Did you ever move there? I have heard so much about the natives don't like Northerner's. Any body know anything about that?

Asking this question now is kinda like closing the barn door after the horse got out.
