Does anyone know where i can call to get help for a senior gentleman living out of sparta in quebeck. He had heart surgery and now other medical problems have happened. He was a neighbor of mine here in florida. I spoke with him last night and he has nothing to eat. No way to go anywhere. I looked up food banks in sparta and quebeck and found nothing.he has no family and his friend in sparta has no way to help him. Please my heart is breaking...i can't stand for anyone to go hungry.email me at patbch1947 in yahoo.

I'd contact the White County Senior Center:
321 E Bronson St
Sparta TN 38583
931.836.3663
There's a Meals on Wheels program in Cookeville which might also service White County:
186 S Walnut Ave
Cookeville TN 38501
931.372.0177
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency in Cookeville coordinates transportation for the elderly and needy in the region (they might also do food, I'm not sure):
3313 Williams Enterprise Drive
Cookeville TN 38506
931.528.1127
Best of luck to you and your friend.

Tks for info
Thank you so much for the info. I lost my father at age 21 and about ten years ago i guess you could say i adopted this sweetheart of a man. Bless him he has always helped others and does not know how to ask for anything for himself. I found out last night he was had no food for three days except one can of porknbeans..sounds like something out of a tall tale but it is so true. Ask why i dont send him money i am just like everyone else broke. I will contact these organizations and i truly thank you.

I'm going to add the local Dept. of human services. 931-738-8256
There was a small food bank in Sparta as recently as a couple of years ago and probably still is. We had offices in the same building at one time. They didn't really advertise but worked mostly off of referrals from DHS.

Often local churchs have food banks and/or people that can help sign him up for assistance.

Thanks to all that sent me information my adopted 76 year old pop had food last night.the organizations were there for him. Thanks to the white and sparta senior center..most of all thanks to the folks on this site you made the task so simple for me...
Now, i would like to go visit him in december. Can someone tell me if they know of a place i can rent like a cabin or does someone rent rooms in the area from dec20-dec28th dont care if it is 20-30 miles from sparta..as long as i can reach sparta in a hour or so..i was going to stay at the marina cabins in dale hollow but it is being winterized...dont want any of those fancy places..
Also if anyone has a place for sale in that area or within in 50-100 miles from sparta let me know..dont care if it is a mobile home or a home needing work..
Thanks again...

If you contact the local Real Estate Agencies in the Sparta area they may have places for rent... Unable to list these agencies do to protocol on City-Data...
The link is the White County Chamber of Commerce for Sparta... Once open search threw the members directory for real estate and property management firms... http://www.sparta-chamber.net/
Look at the florist listing so you can send some flowers to him...

Fall Creek Falls is on winter rates, rooms at the inn are about $50/night. Lake cabins are a little higher. That's a lot closer to Quebeck than Dale Hollow.
