Wow ! That sounds great ! We own lot 305 and we were up there maybe around July and we saw a lot building and met a few locals ... Everything looked like it was moving along. Please let me know what kind of developer issues you are experiencing, thanks !

(chuckling) all the "locals" in Wilder mountain are from Tampa, Orlando, and all points in between.
Now if I could just talk one of them into bringing me a hot Pressed Cuban, a bowl of Spanish bean soup/w chorizo, and a cafe' con leche from La Terracita on Columbus av, I would be all set!

Hey, 10lbs of stone crab from Lobster town in Oldsmar works for me!
I haven't really given much thought to this get together, but I will certainly consider it. If I were to come, I will be either wearing a Lightning or Bucc's shirt so I will be easy to pick out.

Would you belive I have not heard of Lobster town, I will have to look it up, although Crabby Bills has great seafood also. Hope you can make it to the picnic. I can't wait. I really want to meet some more people from Tn. I am going to fly up and rent a car for this. I need to check on my place up there also and stay for a couple of days.

How much does it cost to get water to your property and are the roads paved yet, they were spread with rock last time I was there.

They still have stone roads and a few places that are paved on the river road. You can find contractors that will put in roads/drives for you and you will need to drill a well for water. The power and phone lines are in and if not down your road can be just contact the Wilder Mt. Office. The cost of a well is 3K and septic 3k. We have electric and septic in on 258 so you should be just down the road on Big Piney Loop. I was up there last week and found that the population is growing. A couple stopped by and said they are living there full time and are starting a local group to help with security and having meetings for all LAND OWNERS every Tuesday night at a persons house. Also Air Med will come and pick up anyone who is in need and all you have to do to have free flight to a medical facility is to pay $169 a year per family. I thought this was a great price. They will bill your insurance company but you will not have to pay anything more. So people are coming and building is going on and things are getting better up there.
I hope this helps.

We are so excited that you as a land owner are up to date and have all the good news about what is going on up here in Wilder Mountain! We wanted to let you know that the meetings aren't every Tuesday night though. We had the meeting at our home yesterday and we are trying to get the word out that the next meeting for property owners here in the Wilder Mountain subdivision is on Feb. 19th at 1 PM at the log cabin across from the Office (at the 3 way stop sign intersection of Parkstown and Big Piney). This meeting is for property owners only. If someone reads this blog and they are a person who is just looking at property in the Wilder area or someone who lives around the subdivision and is not a land owner, unfortunately the meetings aren't open for them to attend at this point. We hope to continue to have meetings on a monthly basis (3rd Tuesday of each month at 1 PM) to continue the progress up here in Wilder. Hopefully you can come to the next meeting so we can meet our new neighbors!

Its good to know that there are meeting up there for the owners. I have 5 acres up there (that is for sale) I will be up there in April and might just go to the meeting. Is it during the day or night?
