Default Sequatchie Pointe/ Wilder MNT

The location is wonderful. Iam sure there is some crime in the inner city but the development is 15 mins outside of downtown virtually no crime in the country.

Smile Sequatchie Pointe

Check the FBI website on crime in Marion county there hasnt been a murder or a rape in that area in like 5 or 6 years so the crime is extremely low!

We bought in Little Piney Creek section of Wilder Mt last year and love it there. Sometime this year we are planning on putting in a driveway. We want to build a cabin to use for rental at first then evenutally move there year round. We have 19 acres and have been over most it by ATV. We have a creek on the back or front side of the property depending on how you want to look at it. Lots of wildlife there too!

Regarding Wilder mountain, we bought 5 acres about 2 years ago, and it is in fact in a beautiful area. We also like the restrictions (no trailers, no brick or stucco, etc.) Our only complaint is this ostentatious entrance to the properties they've cooked up. There's this fake log cabin, with a giant "Wilder Mountain" sign attached to it. Two gazebos are adjacent and front, all garnished with fountains and ill-fitting landscaping. All this, I might add, was put in AFTER we bought the property. As you approach for the first time, you're likely to think of three scenarios: A. This is a miniature golf course, B. We've arrived at an extremely rural amusement park ride ("Hey kids. who wants to go on the 'Wilder Mountain'!") or C. This is a Florida-style retirement community, where nobody drives over 7 miles an hour, and tonite's bingo night. TACKY. I hope it's temporary. For class, pick up one of the lots that they still have for sale in Rugby.

Default Ostentatious Entrance

We also bought 5 acres several years ago. I was somewhat taken at the front entrance gazebo, etc. Three years later, I see the same style (type) entry fronts on gated communities in FL , NJ and Calif. building custom homes starting at $600K and up. It seems the rest of the nation is catching up with (or to) Wilder Mountain, TN. Considering all other advantages (depending on how we look at it) I'm not the least detered by the faux fronts - "Life is an adventure".

Wilder is a very nice place, but remote. I have 5.1 acres there. I am also selling for $30,000 if you are interested. I am selling only because it is a little to quiet for me. I need stores closer by.

I bought in Wilder 2 years ago and have not built yet. I am in the process of selling my property because it is just a little to far to the nearest stores, although if I don't sell I will eventually build. It is a real nice area and verrry quiet there. Welcome aboard if you deceide to buy there.

Don't see how there could be a soil problem, looked good to me and the top of the mt. It is way far out about 20 mi to the stores, 45 mi to restaurants, shopping or anything else. About 400 very nice building tracts on top of the mountain. Much flatter than I expected. Most lots are sold but only about six houses built so far, but very nice houses. Open to any and all other questions see ya
I too will be looking at Sequatchie Pointe. Just a word of advice. Make sure you ask up front about the restrictions. I bought in Wilder mountain and didn't know there were restrictions. I had a travel trailer which I had intended using when I went to Tenn. but found out after I bought that they were not allowed. bad on my part not to ask beforehand.
