It's been snowing here in Murfreesboro almost continuously since before noon. It's still probably no more than 3 or 4 inches, though. But the roads are indeed quite nasty. I didn't have much trouble getting home, but apparently some have.

I've got a friend in Mboro that said a good portion of 24 was shut down for a major pile up. My son, south of N'ville, said he's jumped from one accident call to the next all day. It's pretty yucky.

2 co-workers live outside N'ville - Smyrna and LaVergne - and said their drives home were rough. Glad I wasn't on the road and so glad they made it home safe!

Thumbs down 6pm Chattanooga , grid lock 5" - 10 " ridge

Roads in Chattganooga all grid lock . I-24 truck sideways, thus block the interstate. . Most of city all left at 4pm, clogged Rt #27 north , cars can not get speed to climb inclines.
"W" road up plateau , signal mtn CLOSED. now expect 6" to 10 " up on the Walden ridge Plateau.
About 5" to 8" in the valley Rt #27 area. Never turned to rain or temp climb to 40 degrees like expect. Heavy stick snow ALL afternoon.
Hours to make a typical 25 min commute.

Made it home fine. There was no snow in Sullivan county but at about the Washington/Sullivan county line it started coming down, in about 30 minutes went from green grass to a white covering. Still small flakes, not big wet soppy flakes. But now it is dark so I can't see how pretty it is.

Aw MB, I'm sure it'll stick so you'll wake up to a beautiful sight in the morning, and what better view is there to enjoy your morning cup of coffee!!!

Split, sounds like you guys got hammered worse than we did. My mother called earlier this afternoon and said they had left Florida and made it as far as Georgia, on their way back to the Banner Elk area of NC. I very much doubt they'll be getting home tonight.

On the way to work Thursday evening, I noticed that HWY 27 in Rhea County had been sprayed with whatever they spray now. A lot of good that did. Piled up pretty quick.

Just glanced over and man oh man is it ever coming down!! I've not seen this much snow fall here at once since we moved here nearly 4 years ago. Time will tell how much will stick, but it's pretty cool sitting here in front of the heater watching it come down so fast and heavy!

Anyone else have it yet at their place?
I live in West TN and we have about 3 inches on the ground so far. It was sleeting earlier. The county didn't salt the roads at all here.
