Well, bbkaren gave a couple of good links on a previous post.

www.ontheissues.org/senate/Fred_Thompson.htm

and there's a bunch of interviews on YouTube.com, just type in his name, you'll come up with his interviews.

http://www.fred08/com (broken link)

draftfredthompson.com

And how he voted on the issues:

I agree that Thompson is more intelligent than GW, and he'd probable handle conservative politics better, but I think the biggest problem he might have is that his policies smell similar to GW. The last thing anyone wants regardless of their political leanings is another person who remotely seems like GW in the least. I personally haven't read all the politicians's sites yet so I'm clueless as to whom I would vote for. Oh well. We're gonna get ear fulls of this stuff all the way until the end of 2008.

Default Hmmm . . .

Iíve done a little reading about him today and have found some things I like. For example, it appears that he favors States having the power to decide many of the issues that government at the US level has usurped for its own empowerment. In my humble opinion, if this usurpation from the States continues, we wonít have much of a democratic republican form of government left; weíll have an authoritarian republic. That type of republic will continue with elections so as not to be completely un-Constitutional, but said elections will basically be purchased by the highest bidders (meaning factions with the biggest campaign war chest). If this sounds familiar, well, thatís because it is; but it will become MUCH worse in the near term if we donít get real campaign reform. And thatís another good aspect of his position . . .

I better stop now as Iím beginning to wind up.

Anyway, Iím sure there is much out there about him on the Internet and it will be building in volume now.

Maybe they should run the election like American Idol. Start off with 20 candidates, each week give them a point to speak about. Have George Wills, Barbara Walters, and Bill Moyers be the judges (Bill: "Rudy, that's the worse opinion I've ever heard."). Then have people call in to vote someone off. Ryan Seacrest could host.

Oh no. We NEED to have the Idol judges.

Randy: "Yo dawg, that wasn't so good for me."

Paula: "John Edwards, I just love your haircut! Wooo!"

Simon: "You are all amateurs. It's a bit like Karaoke night for me."
