brcomm0 you said:
I am in the process of building a log home in Hawks Bluff. Our house is going to be about 2500 sq feet. Cost is going to be about 200000 turn key.
Who are you using to build your home. We looked at Heritage Log Homes, and it seemed to me that a 2500 sq foot house would cost more than 200000. RCPines

RCPines. Where do you live now? What phase did you buy your house in.
Just to let you know Hertage Log home does not do a turn key. They tell you about a builder and recommend. Thats all they do.

We reside in Wellington, Florida and we too purchased in Hawks Bluff.
Our time frame to build our dream log cabin home is five years. We just fell in love with the area, the weather (change in seasons), everything that has that small town atmosphere.
We worked with Paul and he was just wonderful, what a professional.
I would recommend him highly.

I recommend that you contact Paul Mount at Hawks Bluff. We purchased property from this year. He is most knowledgeable about the area, the individual properties for sale, he is just a pleasure to deal with. Good luck!

One of the covenants is that you "cannot raise swine". That was always my dream when I retire but I'll adapt....
There are few restrictions. Only 5 if I remember correctly. Garages are allowed and I believe the smallest home has to be 1400 SF.

I was informed that the smallest is 1200 SF.

It is 1200 sq feet. No trailers, motor homes etc. But you could build anything.

Re the previous post, though I may be a bit off topic: It's a constant source of amazement just how many out-of-state developments are being advertised here to the stressed-out, hurricane-battered residents of South Florida. I get at least a half-dozen pieces of direct mail per week for land in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. And ads for developments in Kentucky are starting to pop up in the newspapers, along with ads for lakefront property in north-central Tennessee. Hawks Bluff still advertises heavily in this area -- I think they even ran a Spanish language TV ad. And Erik Estrada's almost everywhere on the informercial superhighway -- he's on TV doing ads for land in east Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas. Ol' Erik really gets around!
