Law Enforcement in East TN
I am looking for info on Law Enforcement jobs in TN. I have an interview in July with Knoxville P.D. Any comments on them? I am deciding between that area or Madison Wis. I am needing to go to a training academy that is home based like Knoxville's where they go to training and go home at night. I am a single parent so staying away from home for several weeks is not a desirable option. ANY info would be appreciated. I am a police officer in IL right now.

LOL! Speed limits are suggestions in Knoxville, but the rest of east TN they seem to be quite forceful. Since moving back to the Tri-Cities for the summer I've gotten 3 tickets. 45 in a 35, 72 in a 55, and I forget the other!

So glad to see you are proceeding with your plans.
I think Knoxville police are great. There was a really brutal crime here and they rounded up all five of the suspects in a couple of days, dragging a couple back from Kentucky.

Ohhh.....I heard about that particular Hate crime - HORRIBLE!! 5 men ambushed, kidnapped & brutally murdered a young couple, mutiliating her just for kicks, then pouring draino inside of her to get rid of the 'evidence'.
Good work by the KPD, and whatever other law enforcement entity was involved on that one! Those thugs will have justice served now - and that it will be a very icey cold dish, served in a very hot place.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a really bad scene. I have an interview next month there but training, if I get hired wont be till November. Hope to hear more info!!!

That's the one, Shen! They did a stellar job! That crime still gives me nightmares.
jpbklb: I think this is one of the best police departments I have ever seen. By the way, my husband is from Chicago.
