Just got a visual of that. Pretty scary.

Adriftincowboy, you can't go wrong with either Jamestown or Oneida. Big South Fork lies right between the two and it is a riding paradise.

On the flip side, I got a tick on me. What little bugs, ticks, snakes & other critters are in the remote areas? The land we just purchased is 10 miles outside of the park. I want to know what to expect and what precautions we need to take to keep ourselves safe. Would appreciate any information about the local critters, great & small. Thanks.
Chiggers! Nasty little things! You can't see them, you cant feel them on you, but the bite is REAL itchy! Kinda thought it was poison ivy at first. We also purchased land near there, and found out real quick what they were while we were clearing some brush!
I heard Ivory soap will help. Definately use insect repellant.
