Charming Jackson?
I'm considering a move to Jackson because I have family in the Dyersburg/Newbern area and it's time to be closer to them as they age. I need to be thoughtful about where I might have opportunities to work (teach) and that is one of the reasons I thought of Jackson, because I know there are several schools there. I was concerned about the general attractiveness/crime, etc., in the area. Someone said that Jackson has a "fascinating history" and plenty of "charm" in the downtown/midtown area. Can anyone tell me more or suggest another area that is a reasonable drive from Dyersburg with multiple schools (high school/college) where employment options--especially part time--might be a good possibility? Also, I would prefer some hills--at least mild hills. That would be a nice extra. Thanks in advance for any comments, suggestions.
