Try Romans on Kingston Pike. It is near the dollar movie theatre..
It is NY style pizza. (I am also an Ex NY'er) They even use the same type of ovens..Awesome place to get great food!

My husband & I moved to Crossville last month and can't find an italian store. He is a great cook and made meatballs, sausage and sauce and we bought the sausage and Kroger and boy it didn't taste the same. So we had to order some italian stuff from New York. We also tried the pizza here and it was awful. Any suggestions where to buy any of this stuff in or near Crossville.

We ate at "Brick-oven" in Sparta....
all I can say is " I am stuffed!!!"
A guy at work told me about it, it's hidden behind Capt. D's right off 111,
Food was great (wife got Chicken marsalla, I got combo)
and portions were HUGE.
I met the owner, older gentleman from Greece. seems real nice,
told him we were his new regulars.
-he smiled, and welcomed us to sparta.

My sister just got back from a trip to Memphis and Elvis Week. She recommends "Blues City Cafe" for ribs and catfish, and "Dixie Cafe" for good ole southern home cookin'.
We're going thru her photo's of the trip now. We picked her up at the airport late last nite. She was exhausted but pumped about her trip.
blessings, Shen

The only place I know of is in the Mennonites community in Muddy Pond or Cookville, not an italian place but you can get quality Cheeses, breads and butter.
You can always ask the butcher to grind anything in the meat case through a course plate twice and make your own Italian Sausage.
For 10 lbs
3oz salt - original NY receipe - cut it back if you like
1 oz whole fennel
1/2 oz course ground black pepper
you will not be able to find the casings to put the sausage into locally but it still works great in meatballs.

It's gotta be Cafe Coco in Nashville. I recommend the Waldorf salad, it's an excellent chicken salad with fruit and nuts and unbelieveable vinegrette. Toots and Five Senses in Murfreesboro are also my favorites.

Try Mimi's Cafe in Turkey Creek, it's my family's favorite place in Knoxville. Bacara's in Jamestown is another favorite. The restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, kind of close to Big South Fork and Pickett State Park if that helps anything. If you like German food you'll especially like it, although it is not strictly German.
