I hear a lot about Tri-cities. Is this a city, or a group of cities? I can't find much info when it's Googled. At least, not anything that makes sense! We are coming to Tenn next week and want to see this area.
So now that you all most likely think I'm crazy, any info would be helpful!
Thanks

Tri-Cities is composed of Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol (where they have the NASCAR race). They're all in the same general area in the tippy-top corner of northeast Tennessee.

Good question. Three cities, Johnson City, Bristol and Kingsport form a triangle with them being approximately 18 miles apart, thus, TRI-CITIES. Perhaps a nick-name, but it stuck. Interstate 81 goes right through the middle with one airport serving all three communioties.
