If you're going to bring up three mile island and chernobyl, then your argumetn falls on it's face, as the rest of the nukes have been safe (and much time has passed since them, with things evolving). And look at what powers our navy big ships and subs and how safe they've been over the decades. And look at Europe's reactors.

And, of course, tech is evolving there, too, with reactors that use the fuel until it's no more radioactive than the background noise, as well as new kinds of materials to fuel the reactors with that are even more viable. We are getting new nuclear reactors all over the country now, though it will take time to build them, with the most modern tech and safety standards.

But there's also solar and wind generators that are helping power the grid, making it even cleaner and more efficient. And don't forget the hydro power that is powering much of the NW and west coast.

Only if there was a better way to create hydrogen that didn't use hydrocarbons or use more power than it creates...

Yeah, Japan has enjoyed their nuclear power recently.

And what about the nuclear plant near Omaha NE that hasn't been online for about 3 years, because they keep finding more and more safety issues?

How many more would you like me to list?

And keep in mind that that doesn't even touch the subject of what is to be done with all that nuclear waste.

Funny how the article fails to mention the total lifetime CO2 released by the internal combustion car.

Read it some time, you'll look less foolish.
The irony here is overwhelming.

Speaking of looking foolish... Stop linking ridiculous, agenda-driven blogs. You might as well be linking The Onion.

There are only 2 types of people who are currently buying and driving Electric Cars.

1. People who are stupid, and actually think they're saving money.

2. People who know they are paying double what it costs to drive a regular vehicle, and don't mind, because they want to drive electric regardless of the cost.

To person #2, props to you. Somebody always has to pay exorbitant amounts of money for cutting-edge technology. I'm glad you are willing to do so, because I'm not.

To person #1, there is no point in even talking to you.

Hey evergraystate don't laugh VW and U.S. city bus just invested a quarter million buying up Ballard Power systems AKA a massive Hydrogen Fuel Cell manufacturing company based in Vancouver has had a huge increase in investment from both Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Shares in B.C.-based Ballard Power Systems rocketed up as much as 82 per cent Wednesday after it announced a deal with Volkswagen Group worth up to $100 million.

Ballard Signs Agreement for Clean Energy Fuel Cell Module to Power Connecticut Bus

VANCOUVER, CANADA– Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP) (TSX: BLD) has announced a supply agreement with the Center for Transportation and the Environment for a 150 kilowatt FCvelocityTM-HD6 fuel cell module to be integrated into a bus that will be deployed with CTTransit in Hartford, Connecticut. The All-American fuel cell hybrid bus is expected to be delivered in 2015.

I would not count out seeing more and more Hydrogen fuel cell powered cars or Busses on the Road in the near future
