These videos are one thing, but they don't do justice to the actual experience. There's nothing quite like it. There's being in a fast car when it's floored, and then on another level altogether is the Tesla. I rode in a P85D on June 7, 2015 and let me tell you something - that car will gain speed like a rocket. It really is one heck of an adrenaline rush.

A week ago we were behind a P85D at a stop light that leads to a long expressway on-ramp. The Tesla was first at the light, we were second in my SIL's 2008 Mustang GT. When the light changed, we heard a quick chirp from the Telsa's tires, and it was GONE. SIL didn't even try to keep up

I used to work for a Jag/Lambo dealer. This Tesla would put them all to shame.

Actually, it's ludicrous mode. Not insane. Costs $3000 more as option.

2.8 second 0 to 60. That car is officially in super car category now.

Three Dog Day

Elon Musk, CEO July 17, 2015
— 70 kWh rear drive Model S for $70k
— 90 kWh battery pack option for $3k
— 2.8 sec 0 to 60 mph upgrade to "Ludicrous Mode"

Where is this going to actually be useful? Between stop lights?
