It's you money For $100K I would build a purpose build track day car and pick up a HD Diesel PU Truck and car trailer and take up racing at SCCA track day events as a hobby on weekend and holidays as well as enjoy the tuner scene and hang out with fellow car enthusiasts and Amateur Racers a and make DIY repairs wrenching on my car.

Like I said different strokes for different folks it is up to you pnm the type of cars you like and what you enjoy doing with them it is part of the being a car enthusiasts/ Gear head we all have different ideas as to waht make a cool enjoyable car and mine just differs from your idea.

I would prefer a stripped down C5 Z06, E46 BMW M3 or Mustang GT as a track car towed behind a F250 Super Duty in a car trailer that is just what I prefer and enjoy and what I would rather spend $100K on doing for fun as a hobby and just IMO

That's great and all but really not relevant to this thread

This is a funny thread. Someone asks for recommendations from others who own one and nothing even close gets posted. Sitting in one, knowing someone who ordered one, seeing an ad about one and talking to someone who knows someone who dreamed about getting one but is holding out for the next model doesn't count. Geesh. Like the guy who asks about a lawn mover and out come the people who use goats.

Kind of like how they said the Chevy Volt was the best car ever made but then hardly anybody bought one. Buying an electric car seems to be what they want you to do, no matter if it makes financial sense or not to build one or buy one.

That's the norm here. People HAVE TO write something, even if it's irrelevant, stupid, or worthless to read. I personally 'try to' skip over threads that ask a specific question that i have no idea about.

The latest S-Class is about 100 times better in terms of fit and finish and interior quality. The Model S is more like an European Golf in comparison.

I do not own a Model S but I have driven one, a P85+.

The funny thing is that every thread always gets THAT GUY who thinks that the OP was actually talking directly to them, and starts tossing off irrelevant personal desires as if they were sitting down at the bar next to the Piggly Wiggly.

I don't have one but know someone that does and he loves the car but is still getting rid of it. He bought it for use around town but has had to rent cars to check on his aging mother as it is a 600 mile round trip that he usually does in one day. After just over a year of use he says it simply does not have the capabilities he needs as he can't afford to have it while still needing another vehicle.

80k people bought Volts. I am one of them (well, to be honest, I leased, as the lease deal is pretty damn good). But when was the last time you saw an ad for one? Did you go to the dalership and see that the sales monkeys steerde people AWAY from Volts and tried to sell them malibus and Cruzes instead? And all the political bashing of the car by right wing extremists and oil barons who wrongfully saw the car as an Obama-mobile and used it as a political football?

It still IS one of the most technologically advanced cars being made, it's excellent to drive, and in my case, can easily go for a year of daily driving using less than 9 gallons of gas total.

Thanks for sharing this. This has triggered a reminder for me to evaluate how far can the battery go. I think the brand is good, design is slick but as far as the capabilities go, I have to give it a second thought. A co-worker of mine has a Nissan-leaf and he loves it but then, he only commutes 5 minutes back and forth to work so it really comes down to personal preferences.
