yeah I have seen many articles about the Texaplex. Some articles list the pop as 13M tho. I am thinking that can't be right because Dalston alone brings the number to 12M.

But I found an article by A&M and that one said the Triangle supports 17M people, that seems more accurate to me.

Look up Texaplex/Texas Triangle. You will see what I mean.

For the second link- yeah I already know. I have posted that map with the mega regions at least a hundred times myself on this site, haha.

What's with the first link? I didn't really get that, I think you were trying to tell me that the definitions to both are different, right? If you were, then I already know.

Somewhere near 18 million, 2/3 of Texas's total population.

Hell, throw San Antonio and Austin in the mix like some funky monster triangle thing.
Actually Austin and SA don't add much to the mix. I think they only contribute 1/6 of the megaregion's population.

But I like the name BeauGalFortDalston because Beaumont Galveston and Fort Worth contribute a lot to the region.

Where do you think the capital should be? No to Centerville?

I think everything east of the Brazos River would be good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Brazos_watershed.png

That would be a big MSA, it would surpass the LA metro area before 2020 !
Too far apart. Texas is about the size of France, if that helps give you an idea of distances.

Thank you! I was trying to figure out a Paris to somewhere else in France to give an idea when I answered!

Have you looked at a map? There is nothing spectacular to see for 200 miles between Dallas & Houston. Just prairie & forests.

Austin & San Antonio are the most likely candidates if it were to ever occur, but I see an Austin-Killeen Metro happening first.

Look up the government description of a metropolitan statistical area and you'll get a definitive answer.

Or Just Dalston
Or Housallas? Has a rather cultural sound don't ya think?
