Hello,

I hail from Kentucky lol. I recently moved from my comfy but boring state to the bustling city of Phoenix, Arizona. I am not happy here simply because it's fastpaced, huge and there's too much crime. I can't stand all of this commercialization! I want to relocate somewhere with a good stable economy and ideally a place to raise a family. Now I'm currently unmarried but have actually met someone who lives in Texas! Anyway, enough about my life story.

I don't really have much to pack up and bring with me. I was able to furnish an apartment once I got here but that's only because I'm an experienced thrifter and found plenty of deals at Goodwill. Craigslist was also very resourceful. I only have my car as far as important stuff to bring along goes.

So anyone made a big move like this? Maybe I am taking it lightly because of how easy it was to move from one side of the U.S. to the other. Previously, I sold all of my personal belongings and used the cash a deposit toward my utilities and apartment. I was able to find a job working for a call center fairly quickly. I make $11 an hour but that's plenty to survive off of when you're single. I'll also have someone else living with me, so bills will likely be easier to manage.

Any recommendations on how to approach this idea? Where should I move as far as eastern Texas goes? Would I be able to get a job in the IT field? How does the crime rate fair? Any idea on how affordable the apartments are? Any suggestions on how to tie up on things before I leave? I really want to start over in a new location and rediscover my life. I want to embrace this new change with my new partner. Thank you for advice in advance!
