Did you know about Waste Control Specialists (WCS) to build 2 radioactive waste dumps in Andrews County, Texas?

WCS is using $75 million in taxpayer bonds to build the nuclear waste dumps. They will accept the waste from 36 states. TCEQ engineers & scientist recommended the license be denied because the WCS site is over the Ogallala Aquifer (our nation's largest aquifer), but the director overruled and issued the license anyways. In just a few months after he issued the license he resigned at TCEQ and became a paid lobbyist for WCS!

Don't Waste Texas

Texas and the rest of the SW....seems like the rest of the world thinks that we're one vast, empty space, and it won't matter that all of the crap gets dumped here.

I say...keep your own waste where you are, and dispose of it yourself! It has ticked me off for YEARS, and I hate TPTB in Andrews who agreed to this sort of s***.

I agree completely. I'd like for the wide-open spaces that I'm so fond of not to be radioactive.

Dumping in this county can make more and more worse. it's better if they can re-locate and plan for other area.

Anyway, many jobs are created for that, not necessarily a bad thing during tough times.

Then maybe you'd like us to ship this stuff to France, right?

I think that sounds like the PERFECT solution for this. It would help their economy and create more jobs for the French.

Yes, and think of how many jobs will be created to clean up the mess when toxic waste gets into the aquifer... .
