I hope that after two pages the OP realizes that he/she was giving some bad information.

I've read the responses. I guess what I was really wondering is whether or not the 2 states hate each other, but I thought the thread might get closed if I used that wording. I like both states and I just assumed they got along until I was told otherwise. But I guess every state will have people that don't like other states, so maybe the people I've met that don't like Texas are the exception instead of the norm.

Is it the exception or the norm for Texans and New Mexicans to feel a rivalry toward each other?

I've only heard the New Mexico side of the story so I am interested in hearing the Texas side of the story.

I like both states and this is not meant as an insult to either state.
If it's a rivalry, then it's really one-sided.

I rarely give a thought to New Mexico at all. Not on my radar about anything.

New Mexico never crosses my mind either & I'm a native Texan.

Texas doesn't compete with any of its bordering states except in sports. I don't even think the economy's of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Louisiana combined could equal the powerhouse that is Texas.

I'm a native New Mexican and a naturalized Texan. This rivalry is only in the mind of the OP.

No, the rivalry is in the mind of the people that told me the rivalry exists.

How many times do I have to say it? I assumed the 2 states like each other. People told me they hate each other/there is a rivalry. I started this thread to see what the truth is.

I had no reason to believe there was a rivalry until people told me there was. Even then, I was unsure so I started this thread.

Maybe the people in El Paso and Las Cruces have a rivalry. Though I lived there three years and never heard about it. Dunno.

Oh, you sure did. I apologize. I didn't see the post where you chimed in again.
