Default Longview (Single gal)

I got offered a job in a nice relatively new clinic and the position is flexible with good incentives, however, I have my reservations about fitting in or getting used to living in longview as a single female.
The DFW area has a lot more to offer entertainment wise and I live in a central area of the metroplex which makes commute around the area doable.

Longview looked like a lovely town that would be suitable for married person with children which doesn't fit my situation at this time.

Am I wrong in feeling that way? Any input would be appreciated.

I might just stick it out here in DFW and keep looking around for another full-time job. Right now I am doing agency work in the healthcare field until I find something to my liking.

Stay in D/FW till you're at least 40 & ready to have a family.

Its a pretty place and is also near the lake, also a quick drive to Shreveport. I do think however it is more family oriented. I have some friends who live in Tyler and keep a condo in Dallas; they come here about a third of their time just to be in a more metropolitan area.

I spent my early 20's in Tyler, Longview and Kilgore. It's rough for a young single. All of the people you would want to introduce to your parents have moved to DFW, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, L.A., N.Y., Chicago, etc. etc.

If you have a thing for oilfield workers you'll be fine.

Most East Texans get married right out of high school or college. Definitely not a good place to be single & in your 20's or 30's. I think you would be miserable here quite honestly. Most of your playtime would be spent in Shreveport/Bossier City at the Casinos or in Dallas.

Of course we all assume, that in this day and age you wouldn't be interested in the "church scene". Tyler has a huge church with hundreds of singles your age, it's called Green Acres Baptist, 14,000 members 6,000 to 7,000 can be "found" ha, ha. Very active singles group, 75 in one class just went to Rangers Boston game. Lot's to do, but as I said today, few younger people or most people give a "hoot". You might.
