Hi, I own a kitchen tile backsplash company in dayton, ohio and was curious if Texas would be a better place for my business to run. I am leaving Dayton because the economy is absolutely terrible and no one has any money for home remodeling. Do you think Texas, preferably Houston is right for me?....Are there any other cities you would suggest?........ The city has to be a mid to large size city with a good economy and lots of money. If you don't think Texas is a good place can you recommend another one?....thanks!!!

Yes, I think tile backsplashes are popular here and the economy here is better than in Ohio. BUT, tile down here is pretty inexpensive and a lot of folks seem to be into DIY. Labor is less expensive here, too, for many reasons. I think if you could offer specialty designs and services, though, you'd probably do well.

depends on the city, In san antonio my mom had a handpainted tile backsplash put in that matches the window treatments and wallpaper in the kitchen and breakfast room area. She payed plenty to have it done.
