Democrats are fake hypocrits who vote for a war then try to get votes by saying they are against it and because of their spokesperson, Al Gore who claims to be an enviromentalist and tells everbody to ride a bike to work, while he flies around the country in a private jet. Makes me sick

Bill Clinton fires a missle into the sand in the middle of the desert after the first attempt to bring down the towers and feels like his job is complete.

based on fake intel fabricated by the bush administration, even your own hero Collen Powell admits it was all BS. And I guess your right, the Dems are bad because Al Gore flys on airplanes. Sounds like some one has been listening to Neocon talk radio. Try watching CSPAN or reading newspapers. or go to Ron Paul, or Repulbicans Gordon Smiths Websites and countless outher republican website for some true perspectives.

I don't think it matters where someone was born. I was born in New York, moved to California at the age of 14 months, and lived there for 28 years. I have lived in Texas longer now than I did in California, but I'll always consider myself a Californian, not a New Yorker or a Texan.

My great-nieces were both born in England but moved to Texas at a young age. They're Texans to me and to themselves. I really feel it's where one is raised is what he or she is but of course, there are always exceptions.

As for you spending most of your years in Europe, I don't know how to distinguish that as it's too confusing. Maybe you're just an American.
Yes, I've always envied those born and raised on one place! My hubby, on the other hand, envies my childhood experiences. But growing up, I didn't like changing schools and friends every few years in the middle of the school year. But since us military brats were all in the same boat, we formed our own kind of community. In fact, we really didn't need to go outside the base if we didn't want to, everything we needed was on base.

somebody answer that for me please

you know what i have seen come with diversity?
crime.
liberalism.
other assorted bullcrap.

you call that progress????? its a forward form of regression. look at rome they progressed so much it collapsed.

oh yeah, i can recognize somebody elses religion or practices or deal with crap i find annoying and strange. wow, oh yeah the food, i can suffer without it and if i really want some other food, i will go there where it originated.

before some of you dimwits (the ones who will fulfill the next part of the statement) start accusing me of being a racist or bigot i am not. i grew up in california and have been alot of places around the world. everywhere i have tried to live in texas was to be around people who are more similar to me. not to have some other person try and cram whatever they feel, think or believe up my backside and tell me its good.

and with that being said, is why alot of texans are sick of californians coming here and trying to turn it into california. if you want california go back.

california has alot of great stuff, but i have found i cannot stand to be there anymore because of the many facets of california make me disapointed it has turned into a over crowded, polluted, expensive land of self victimization and self rigthoeusness.
not the place i grew up in.

if that is what you want....move there or stay there, dont bring that crap here.

native californian now living in texas
One thing NOT good about diversity is that it can have the tendency to blur heritage and cultural lines. I mean, I love meeting people of other cultures, I was a military brat so I'm used to it but diversity sometimes doesn't reinforce each person's own special heritage, in fact it can overemphasize one or two over another. Yes, I'm being deliberately subtle so that the pc police don't come after me.

My brother and sister-in-law live in Denver and they said that Californians had been coming to CO in droves back in the 90's. Not everyone was happy about it. Too many people coming to another place in a short amount of time can change things and upset the natives of any state.

I completely understand that I'm at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to intellect because I consider myself a Republican, so I'm always thankful to have an all knowing liberal to point me in the right direction and show me the error of my ways. I'm now operating under the assumption that the report I read that stated "regime change" was the official policy of the Clinton administration with regards to Saddam was fabricated. Please inform me where I can tune in to Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell so they can enlighten me further.

well, Im glad that you can admit that the libs have an advantage over ya. Michael Moore and Rosie were not on my assigned reading for you. I actually assigned you Replublican websites and cspan. Would you like to discuse "Remime Change", Or Michael Moore. All I know about you, and you might be a fine american for all I know, but for right now all I know is that you beleive the dems destroyed america because AL GORE flys airplanes.

I am aware of the clinton policy of "Regime change". What does that have to do with how smart you are. It doesnt make me any smarter, or you dumber. Sorry if you feel that I have insulted you. Cheer up man, its just a thread on a forum.

Cali_couple is on a distinguished road
My Dad always said, " There are two things people will never agree on, religion and politics" Well... now I have another to add, California VS Texas.

Not everyone that has moved to TX, is here for the so called "Good life" Some of us are here due to a job transfer. My first year here, was a bit sad and exciting at times. My second year here, I can truly say that I was a bit happier. By our third year here, I hated it... I wanted to leave this awful state!

Forward the clock a few years, and we now have the opportunity to move back to CA...good thing we did not sell our house. Home Sweet Home I thought, here I come!

But now I feel torn, the state I had come to hate, Hmmm not sure I want to leave. There are things I would love to get back to CA for, but on the same token, I KNOW I would miss certain things about TX.

Both states are quite different. And thank God for that. That is what makes the world go around. How boring would it be if everything, everyplace and everyone was identical?

I don't consider myself a Texan nor a Californian... We need to look at the big picture. I am an American
and proud of it!

Shoe, that's where you are wrong. There are no hills or mountains that are always hidden by smog. Smog only happens on SOME days, not every day. See pic below. This is my neighborhood.
