I do agree with you about Texas. I don't regret moving here, but I do regret leaving California. It's a bit of a paradox, if you will.
sounds like we are in a similar era. You may be a little younger, who knows, but Pickwick wasn't around too long after I graduated I don't think. Yep, we did the drive in as well, but not the bowling alley or pool. We had our own pool plus a really awesome one in NO Glendale. I can't remember the name of it. As for bowling we did that in Glendale as well.

We lived there until we were in our early 40s. I don't regret leaving even though I miss some aspects of the state. It was different then, of course what wasn't. Financually I regret leaving..

I graduated in 1966 and you had little kids then, so yes, the same era. I moved to Texas when I was almost 28, way too young.

Glendale is where my grandmother, grandfather, and other relatives lived. We all came out to CA from NY in the early 1950s. I miss the mountains and the beautiful Pacific. Oh my gosh, PCH is so gorgeous, the redwoods are spectacular, and, well, you get the picture.

Every day, I miss the financial aspect of it. At least you stayed longer than I and ended up with more cash than I.

How do you like AR? It's very pretty there at least the part I've been to, but the tornadoes and humidity would keep me from considering it as a possible relocation. Houses are reasonable there, but I just don't want to deal with more bad weather and humidity no matter where I end up within the next few years if not sooner.
