well, like someone said, this isn't south florida, and winter hasn't even begun yet; we're bound to see atleast a week's worth of frigid days

Yeah it sucks. That's my reason for hating cold weather. I can't function like I want to because I get too sick and drained to do anything.

AMEN.

Even after a lifetime of Texas heat (born and raised), I don't tolerate it very well these days in ANY place.

I don't see how anybody can have more than one day of chapped lips! Every drugstore/discount/convenience store/cheapo dollar-whatever carries some type of lip balm.

I keep several tubes everywhere--the car, by my computer, in the kitchen drawer, in my nightstand, on the sofa table, in my purse, etc. so that there is always one at hand!

I've done that all of my life, and I thought everybody did that.....guess not, LOL!!

The problem with heat in the eastern half of TX is the humidity. Sweating doesn't do much good because it doesn't evaporate, and since it isn't pure water, it cakes and one smothers in it. Yuck. Dry heat is a lot easier for me to take.

Isn't Fort Davis wonderful? That is my favorite place in ALL of Texas.

LilyLady: The area north of Fort Davis near McDonald Obnservatory is my favorite in all of Texas. Just gorgeous! Fort Davis is the nearest town, and it's my favorite town in TX. I think of that part of the state as Baja New Mexico.

if you think it's cold there, try living in Mn. This morning it was 0 with close to a foot of snow. The wind chill was even colder and it's only going to get worse.

It isn't cold here. Some just think anything below 70 degrees is cold. Ha ha!

That's what five months of heat does to me. Oh my, talk about drained and not even sick. I hate, hate, hate it, but I surely do love the time of year that you don't love.
