That's more of a Monterrey Mexican thing starting about 5 minutes north of the Clear Lake area, into Pasadena and deep into the southeast side of Houston.

You'll see one of those smoking whole chickens on the side of the road, along with the whole onion, limes & super hot avocado sauce. Pollo Asado-- good ****. Nevermind the chickens walking around the BBQ pits. Usually selling flowers as well. I suppose that could qualify as country as well.

So it wasn't like I was making it up. I don't have much experience from New Orleanians. But I believe they call Atlantans country as well. Why do they think this? I do not know.

I know you weren't. Sadly, even the deep south states stereotype us.

In my Political Science class this year; my teacher asked those not natives to the state what were their impressions of Texas before arriving here and of course they gave the typical answers, "Everyone rides horses, farms, rural, rednecks, backwards, etc".

I was really tripping when I asked one student out loud where he was from and he said Mississippi. I was dead lol

Don't New Orleans people think they have more in common with the North than the south anyway??
