By the way, I laughed when I read the USA Today article. You do realize it's from 2010? And the waterfront development and mixed urban, residential and green space referenced is the deal that the developers just abandoned, right?

Evidence? Really? A wishful thinking article from 2010 about a project that has since failed to materialize is evidence?

I'm aware it's from 2010... That doesn't mean they were referencing a development that wasn't announced until 2013. They may have referenced developing the river front.. They've been talking about it for years.

It's not about the "wishful thinking" riverfront development, but about the fact people are even talking about urbanity in Waco... It's a phenomena that was entirely unheard of just a few decades ago.. You cannot deny the photos I took, or the countless developments that have come to downtown Waco over the last decade.

Sure, I said there's been progress but like I said it has been slow and recently stalled out. Your articles prove my point. A lot of wishful thinking about river development and now they've concluded that it's not economically feasible. Over the years there have been numerous restaurants, bars, galleries, wine bars and whatever come and go from downtown Waco. Everyone thinks their great new venture will be different but most don't survive.

I'm not sure why you have such high expectations for Waco but those types of things happen in ALL cities. And we also went through a recession a few years back if you don't remember..

Yes but I'm not the one arguing that it's an exciting place with a vibrant downtown.

I never said either of those. I'm saying it's not what you are trying to make it out to seem.

You've tried to sell it as a very desirable location. It's not. It's not the worst location in Texas and there are many worse such as Houston . But it is not a desirable place to live. It's a tolerable place.
