Hi Everyone,
I have a question about the weather in M/O. I am planning a move to Odessa but what I have seen in the weather this year had been concerning me. It was my understanding that Odessa got very little rain and little or no humidity. Is this true, is this an unusual year? Weather IS a big issue to our move. I want to hear all good and bad. Thank you for your input.

Default Odessa is the desert

Odessa, Midland, and those cities are desert-type climates, part of the Chihuahan desert, but not as dry as the Sonoran desert but still quite dry.

Odessa has little humidity, usually. It does not have a monsoon season, as southern Arizona does. Today it is raining there, and it is welcomed, but this year has been "very" rainy already, and the 12" average rainfall is already met for the year.

Unlike central and east Texas, humidity won't be a problem there. Nor are there as many "bugs" there. Fleas and ticks find the lack of rainfall damaging.

Good luck in Odessa. It is booming now.

What do you know about mold and allergies? Do many people have a problem with these? Are there good allergists?
