I know how you feel. I'm moving to cisco and i can't find anything on-line. The only way is to actually go there and look I guess.

Have you looked up or tried to contact a local Chamber of Commerce, or looked up the town in the City-Data index?

What job transfers you to Cisco or Eastland? There isn't a lot going on in either area.

Oilfield, most likely.

You're going to have to go out there and look. I don't know if either town even publishes a newspaper anymore. You might be able to call a local realty office and they could help.

Of the two, Eastland is MUCH better.

I don't know about the Eastland area but landlords in smaller towns around Lubbock don't publish their listings. Ask someone at City Hall who the landlords are in town, then call them. Also you probably should look through the Abilene Craig's List.

BTW, I like the Eastland/Cisco area but have only driven through on the Interstate.

I've spent the night a few times in Eastland for work, and Cisco once, and stop by many times during travelling further west. Eastland seems to have a little more going for it. It does have a Super Walmart, the downtown is neat, a small hospital, and a few other minor things. Cisco's downtown area did not look good, closed stores, etc.

But both are near towns, with the story of "Ol' Rip," and Conrad Hilton's first hotel.
