I dislike that there is no Jack In The Box or Braums in Texarkana. Maybe that's a good thing because I'd probably be fatter than I alreasy am.

Just moved to houston from NY...Haven't had any dislikes yet.. My family's Quality of life has jumped 110% , all the people [ neighbor's..ect ] we have met or come in contact with have been awesome. I'm on the same page as TexasReb...[ love the response on page 3 ] real happy to get away from all the bleeding Liberals in NY...lol ...as far as complaining about the heat...isn't that why we made a thing called POOLS??

I am a former NYer and you hit the nail on the head. I love the weather (even in July and August) the folks are polite and friendly. My quality of life increased 1000%. Glad to be away from the self centered liberals of Ny that think everything in life revolves around them. Oh yeah and this state is second amendment friendly gotta love it.

-Lack of sufficient public trans in our cities
-Poor environmental design, in general
-The inexplicable attachment this state has toward the largely romanticized image of the Wild Wild West

Yeah, it gets hot and there are a lot of bugs, but it's pointless discussing things that can't be helped.

Like:
- The weather, excluding the summer (I like to be warm)
- The people are generally friendly
- Very diverse (in the cities and certain suburbs)

Dislike:
- Too conservative
- Too religious
- Having had to deal with DFW's 110F heat last summer
- The over-reliance on cars. I am really not interested in driving and hate how my quality of life has been drastically impacted because I do not own a car.
- The education system; it's a damn joke. Take away all the interesting languages, art courses, the teachers, for what? Football? And I say this as someone who was a student athlete in high school.

And is apparently the only music in Texas that David can find? I know that for a very long time I didn't like country music (that was before I twigged to its connection to blues), lived in Texas, and somehow managed to never have to listen to it but listened to quite a few other genres of music that I did like.
