.... no real use? You do realize that without this "ditch" there'd be NO DFW, right?

BTW, Fort Worth's bridge IS necessary because it's a main thoroughfare, replacing an almost 100 year old bridge.
I will be glad when it complete so we can shut Jluke and Scarface up.

I know, I am taking about as of now. We can't fish or swim in the river. So what can we use it for, other than water? (When I said we should drain it I was JKing.) We should try to find other uses for the river. A lot of people in DFW think the river is a drainage ditch. I have seen people dump in it and it's tributaries. People just don't care about it. Well, at least I do.

On top of that the trinity river without the dammed laked would pretty much engulf downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas. The ditch the poster is referring to would be much, much, much larger if the river was in its natural form.

Isn't the overall objective of the trinity river project is to bring the river back to the people?

I was thinking the same thing. The Trinity River in Liberty, Tx is pretty wide. As it nears Houston it starts to look like a real river.

Yes, but how are they going to do that if the river is still unsafe to be in.

Well we're using it for wakeboarding and tubing. Along with the TRV, we'll add on to the water activities.

Fort Worth is doing more with little...
