This group originally was formed to support the TTC, which was snubbed by the public big time.
Like that means something...

One thing about government projects and groups, can't trust them when they say "we want what the people want". As we all know, things happen even if we say we don't want it (Just look at College Football right now) and again, this has started. Sure it'll be conversions of existing highways, but it's STILL a new interstate.

You should see whats going on between Bullard & Jacksonville. US 69 is being transformed from a 4 lane country highway into a small section of freeway with elevated overpasses & feeder roads. US 69 between Jacksonville & Rusk is a 4 lane winding concrete median divided freeway taking you on a little woodsy adventure. Driving it on a nice sunny day with the top open is a treat I always enjoy. The fresh open piney air is wonderful.

US 59 through Lufkin recently got constructed into a freeway too complete with elevated over passes.

Its happening, albeit at a slower pace than I'd like to see.
Metro matt please quick tricking people to believe theres a freeway
between Rusk and Jacksonville. That is median a half mile stretch without
any business or frontage road. Moderator cut: off topic/personal
For everyone wondering about I69 it take you through Texarkana,Atlanta,tx,Carthage,tx,Garrison,tx,Nacog doches,tx,Lufkin,tx,Houston,tx.
It don't go nowhere near Tyler,tx and it isn't a upgrade of us 69 it is running side by side to us 59.People who don't belive me go to TXDOT.COM.

Tyler having to overpasses south of loop 323 isn't consider a freeway then two miles up there is stop lights lol you need to go to the city more often.Freeways don't turn in to stop lights on the mainlanes.Tyler is growing don't get me wrong but could grew even more if the city would grow toward I20.I stayed in Tyler for 3yrs and the city isn't growing like it should the only city limits touching the interstate is on us 69 and 271.So what do that tell everybody.

I don't know why you're getting off topic now.

Sorry to say this but Tyler is growing faster than your favorite Lufkin/Nacogdoches.

We already have I-69 in Corpus Christi in between IH-37 and SH 44. Its I-69 already from the 37/69(77) interchange down to the south city limits of Robstown.

It was officially renamed last December.

Seems premature to me. An interstate that only travels a short distance within one state is not much of an "interstate". Some day maybe, when funds are available. But it's a far cry from the TTC monstrosity that was proposed. I-69 will be just an upgrade to existing US Highways.
