Like I asked, "If it isn't southern, what is it besides Texas?" Does it being considered southern bother you for some reason? Being southern is not that bad except in the eyes of narrow-minded people.

No, it's not the southern aspect, it's the inaccurate aspect. It's the inveterate researcher and editor in me.
And, yes, it's Texas. That's the problem, as I've said - it doesn't fit into any of the regional boxes that folks want to put it in, it's its own entity.
And now you've decided to start calling names because I disagree with you?

I'm sorry, but I did not call anyone a name. You're not disagreeing with me. If it's deeply rooted in you that Texas is not southern, so be it. If you're disagreeing with anyone, it's Wikipedia. If it pleases you to not name Texas as a region in the U.S. because Texas is Texas, I can't relate to that, but I certainly can accept it.
When I mentioned narrow minded, I was not referring to you but to people that put down southerners and refer to them as rednecks which is so far from the truth. Many people are proud of their southern heritage. It's kind of like the southerner who bad mouths the Yankee; it's all pretty narrow minded.

This is what I responded to. Its meaning is quite clear.

Melting Pot Texas
Texas is a melting pot. I mostly agree with what JamesAbilene said on page 13. Texas east and southeast of Dallas is 'southern'. South and Southwest Texas are largely Latino. West Texas and the Panhandle are more Western.
And just for the record, I'm an atheist and feel no need to apologize, since I'm a nice guy and try not to be judgemental. Most of my friends are Christians.
