Default Relocating to Azle???

My husband and I live in a small town just north of Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA. We want to relocate to an area with less expensive house prices (here the average price is $260,000) and are looking at Azle, TX. We are renting now but want to buy something that will be less expensive for us when we retire in 15 years.

We also have a 12 year old daughter who is in 7th grade so schools are a concern too.

I have a friend who just moved to Azle from this area to be near her son and she loves it. I'd like to get someone else's opinion. Thanks.

Default Azle, Texas

I've never heard of Azle, Texas. However, on the internet it looks like a nice place. Here is a couple of web sites for more info.

Azle is ok...growing by leaps and bounds...i drove through it EVERY day going to work to Ft Worth from Paradise (where i lived)...Jacksboro Hwy (Hwy 199)...death trap. used to have bumper stickers with jokes about surviving Jax Hwy...great bbq place on the left hand side going west...little bitty place.
last i know, when i left in 2003, they were putting up all kinds of shopping complexes and Home Depots etc, right on the 820 loop area near Azle/Lake Worth...
hey, anywhere in Texas is better than NOT being in Texas..
and Azle is close to Ft Worth...GREAT CITY and i hate cities
