Default Money Motivated - Trying To Decide Where To Move

Hi Everyone,

I will try and keep my post short. I make good money. I am motivated by making more money. I am looking to move to a no income tax state, or to a state with a city with a business environment that is prospering.

I currently work for three companies full-time: Web hosting sales ($120k/year base pay), selling a SEO service ($65k/year base pay) and an Internet based healthcare company with a monthly income (as of this month) at $85k/month (this will increase as I make more sales).

I want to start a capital management company and a medical practice management company. My goal is to start a medical practice management company that will acquire underperforming hospitals and "rehab" them, and also acquire clinics to improve the expenses to revenue ratios (help decrease cost of care and improving access).

What can you all tell me about Dallas? Is it a city where I can take my above experience and land an executive job with some company? Or a VP of medical sales?

Take a wild guess on which city I would recommend. McAllen, Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Houston. Not only because of the our vast Medical Center, but because of business growth in general. I would choose Dallas second.

In order of preference: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso.

Each has significant investments in both hospitals and teaching facilities (nursing schools, university medical / dental schools, etc.) Houston has the most medical schools attached to institutions with main campuses elsewhere - Baylor Medical School, for example - main campus in Waco.

Baylor Medical School hasn't been affiliated with Baylor University since the 1970's or something like that.

Mea culpa. Thank you for correcting me. I stand by my recommendations for city ranking for medical institutions.
Quote:
In 1969, by mutual agreement, the College separated from Baylor University to become an independent institution. This encouraged broader, nonsectarian support and provided access to federal research funding. The institution's name changed to Baylor College of Medicine.
Also, Baylor remains a private institute whereas other medical institutions in Texas are state funded.

Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest...

Oh, I argee with you on Houston as being probably the best for the medical field. Baylor was in some dire financial straits last I saw but maybe they've figured that out by now. Overall, Houston has a lot of large hospitals and most of them are concentrated close together which would help logistically for a business person.
