Del Rio is a very small town, so access to medical care is very minimal, as they only have the county hospital. Most of the elementary schools are rated recognized, with one exemplary elementary campus. I hate using the TAKS test as a measuring stick for public schools, since it only measures the ability of a teacher to teach to a test, but at the same time it shows that students are learning what they need to know. There are not really any apartments in Del Rio, you'll want to look toward the north part of town when searching for a home. There is also a small "new" subdivision near the east side of town near the Air Force base, but it is surrounded by many older homes. Finding housing in Del Rio may take awhile since it tends to be very expensive compared to what you can find elsewhere in Texas. Welcome to Texas! I'm not from the area but...

There is some good information here: http://www.city-data.com/city/Del-Rio-Texas.html
and here: http://www.city-data.com/housing/hou...Rio-Texas.html

I assume you are Air Force? If so you might be able to get some good information here, send Crew Chief a private message: What are the best and worst military towns?

You may already know about these:
