Default Rec Centers in Tyler TX?

Moved here from CO via Wyoming - it's been an adjustment, but a good one mostly. (May have to move to Waco in January, and am a little concerned about that.) We really like the Tyler/Lindale area and for the most part, everyone has been very friendly.

Problem: I need an indoor pool!

We live in Lindale, and haven't thoroughly acquainted ourselves with the area, but it sure seems like rec centers are almost non-existent, even with the EXTREMELY high taxes in Smith County! (Now that IS another story entirely!)

Visited Denver a couple of weeks ago - daughter's neighborhood has a brand new rec center which is huge and beautiful. They also show outdoor movies there regularly in the summer, and provide free beverages for those who attend. (This is ALL FREE, by the way!) Not to mention, the classes offered there are just incredible.

I thought - no problem - this is Texas after all - there will be plenty of that here. I have been checking and have found almost nothing.

I'm hoping I'm just not looking in the right places, but in reality, don't know how that's possible.

Now that I think about it, I've never even seen a rec center here...are there any with indoor pools?

BJ

Try the YMCA and also I believe my parents go swimming at the local hospital which has a fitness center inside. They have their own swimming pool. I highly recommend it.
