Wow great photos RGV! This is East Texas, right? looks like it. Btw, in that one pic of the tree that overhangs on the street, see how it's touching the wires? Isn't that illegal?

Columbus is approximately 70 miles west of Houston off of I-10.
Don't know about the wires, but I would guess that'd be the responsibility of the power company to keep them clear. That's the deal here in Houston.

Great pics...thanks for sharing! I've always liked this town..with all the relatives I have in Houston, we drove through here a lot (and stopped and ate plenty of times) when I was living full time in San Antonio.

I just LOVE all the old, small towns in Texas that have retained their charm. I so want that gas station - the blue and white one. Way too many of those lil ol buildings were torn down to make room for some mighty boring architecture . Then the houses. I loved ALL of them and would LOVE to have the yellow one w/ white trim and black shutters. Ahhhhhhh, love at first sight. I'm just glad there are a few houses like that here in my city in our downtown area and a few new ones that people have built that look like that.
Thanks for the pics that you are always providing on here.
