Two more reasons I can add to the list is that Texas has the highest rate of people without health insurance and Texas has a higher percentage of people on food stamps than California even though our unemployment rate is lower.
All good words but the sheeple in this country will believe what they are told on the news and what they read as long as it affirms their desires that they are not in danger of being caught up in any recession. As for all of those people moving here without jobs they have no clue and just want a "Grass is greener" outcome. They will learn quickly that the grass is brown here and not green.

Here is a little bit of behind the scenes Texas economic condition information. Last year many major insurance companies raised their rates. Some even had approval to raise their already high homeowner insurance rates by as much as 36%. I spoke to one such company and they plainly told me that the rate increases were the result of more Texans filing claims on their insurance policies that they would not have done before this economic crash. According to this insurance company more Texans have considerably less disposable income and more Texans are living almost paycheck to paycheck than before the economic crash. This has resulted in a heavier draw on the insurance companies and the resulting approval by our own Texas government for such huge rate increases.

It terrifies me that this man is getting such good press. I will never vote for him. In fact, I hate nearly all of the Republican lineup this go around and I'm a Republican usually. I think I'll have to look into 3rd party candidates.

Default NO amen!

Moderator cut: orphaned

Moderator cut: off topic for the forum

Perry (of the Hair), however, might be described as Bush Ultra-Lite. Not only is he a dim bulb but even Romney has him beat on integrity and consistency. How can one swing from being a Gore Democrat to a T-party drool-rag-chasing Christian-Right Theocratic Republican in a little over 20 years? (while still performing worse than the typical tax-n-spend liberal democrat).

I'm sorry, was that going too far? Can anyone tell I REALLY don't don't like Rick Perry?

Ummmmm I am a teacher and the way schools are funded is not "top-notch" as you put it. I don't care if you are black, white, orange, blue, purple, ROYGBIV, Rick Perry has destroyed the education system in so many ways it is not even funny!!!! Although, I am sensing some sarcasm in that guy's post b/c that is just a nightmare if that guy really believes that!
