I don't believe they're are in any Stuckey's stores around central Texas. I, also, don't believe there is Hungry Hobo restaurant in New Braunfels anymore. However, there is a new food co-op in east Austin called Happy Hobo Co-operative Cafe and Grocer !

I hope this helps!

Are there any Stuckey's anywhere in the USA anymore? All I ever see is abandoned or re-purposed former Stuckey's buildings. I think it's sort of a concept past its sell-by date.

OK, I stand corrected, but they must be as rare on the ground these days as Howard Johnson's or White Castle Burgers (I believe the last of those clings on somewhere in Manhattan). All the former Stuckey's I recall ever seeing in Texas during the last few decades we lived there we mere shells along I-35 or sometimes turned to other purposes (somehow you can always tell a place that used to be a Stuckey's).

In addition to never seeing Stuckey's anymore, I also no longer see those "Robertson's Ham" places, featuring (on billboards) the famous ham sandwich. I think we stopped in one back in the early 1970s, and found the ham sandwich lacking. Robertson's does still exist (I just googled).

Stuckey's did have great gifts, at least for children. Who can forget the small, cheap wooden box, with a flip up top? On the box was written something like "Arkansas Toilet Paper"; flip open the top and you saw an old corn cob.

287 from Decatur to Amarillo past weekend....

Saw a 7-11 with a Subway on one side, and a Stuckey's on the other. From the 1/2 second I tore my eyes from the road to look at it, it appeared the sole entrance was under the 7-11 sign...

Maybe my eyes deceived me, but I did laugh out loud when I saw it!

White Castle? I think the farthest south I see them is in TN, but they are still around up north. I was at one in MI a month or so ago.

There are still quite a few White Castles in the Chicago area too. I don't think they have any presence in the western half of the country, though.
