I'm not referring to ANY "scientific poll", pal. I'm referring to my own personal opinion, and the many others I know who share that opinion. Just because you work for the city (and don't even live in the city proper I might add), doesn't mean you speak for all 2 million-plus of it's residents. Houston's civic leaders will do whatever they see fit to do with the dome, and I'm sure that as a city worker you will have a hand in said soulless decision. How nice for you.

Every single time we're sitting around watching the news and that topic comes up, all I hear is them complaining about wtf is it still serving. Not one person has ever said "We need to keep it up for historical reasons" NOT ONE! These guys (25 of them) are all over 50yrs old and are big time Texans/Astros/UT/TAMU/UH/Rockets fans. I really would like to see Harris Co. or City of Houston put this up for Vote.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like the structure, I'd just like for "MY CITY" to get a clue and make something useful out of it.

Ah yes, I misread the word "in", and mistook it as "for". My mistake. Must be because I'm one of those 50-something old farts who don't matter and my eye-sight just isn't what it used to be. Actually I'm 43, but that's neither here nor there.

So you live in suburbia and work in the city. Commuter man. Living the dream. Look, I'm sorry having to sit in gridlock traffic every day breathing all those exhaust fumes has soured you on Houston so much, but believe it or not there are actually people who grew up inside the loop who enjoyed the inner city and all it had to offer us, one of those things being the Astrodome. Go ahead, turn down your thumb and vote for it's destruction. Maybe next you can destroy Katy Mills. It's very much an "eyesore" in my opinion. While you're at it, how about all those refinieries and pulp mills along the ship channel? They're pretty f***ing ugly too. How about the Gulfton ghettos? EYESORE. Who cares if a few thousand families are displaced? Maybe they can move to Katy. I mean after all... SW Houston was once the Utopian suburban dream too.
