No it doesn't. The Astrodome doesn't sound cool at all. There's nothing unique about the name. The Cotton Bowl isn't one word.

Houston put a man on the Moon. I don't know how much more of an accomplishment you could get than that.

Houston's Galleria was the first in Texas.

The Gulf Freeway was the first freeway constructed in Texas yet it still somehow manages to look like one of the newest & most modern in the state.
The Galleria is just a normal mall. I guess someone decided to name it the Galleria. WOW that's really something!

Katy fwy won't be the most modern for long. Construction has started on The LBJ Express, DFW Connector, and The North Tarrant Express.

In the meantime I-45 North is expanding like nobody's business. Pretty soon it will be 12-17 continuous lanes from The Woodlands all the way past Conroe.

I-10 East is also getting a make over.

59 on the northside is relatively new too.

D/FW may have more freeways overall, but Houston has much wider & more modern ones. Its also cool seeing palm trees gracing the side of the freeways in Houston. Dallas' freeways aren't landscaped at all.

We have 3 reconstruction projects in DFW. DFW has added more construction jobs than any other metro in the USA. Houston won't be the only metro with wide freeways. Who cares about landscaped freeways?

Houston had the first fully air conditioned stadium.

Houston had the first drop top arenas.

Dallas had the first...umm...NBA/NHL arena.

When is Dallas ever going to catch up with Houston on pro sports stadiums? Hell your soccer team plays all the way up in Collin County/Frisco & the Dallas Cowboys might as well be called the Tarrant County Cowboys now.

so this is now a "dallas wishes it was as cool as houston" thread ?

Ive lived in both, Dallas is a mere shadow of its former self, the only reason anyones ever heard of it was some TV show a few decades ago.

Heck our MedCenter is dang near bigger than dallas
back to the topic,
tear them both down, they have served their purpose, they made the owners rich and famous.

oh please, Houston has more parks than any other big city in america.

You all wish you had the galleria. At one time it was the 4th biggest mall in the US
