So an inland port is outside the realm of possibility?

Also, what does this post have to do with Cotton Bowl vs Astrodome?

Houston was also the first "official" state capital of the Republic of Texas before Austin.

Houston has more historical significance than Dallas in the State of Texas, named after General Sam Houston, who was our President, senator, & governor.

First off, anyone who says that either one of these buildings should be demo'ed should be shot.

These are Texas landmarks. It's bad enough we lost Texas Stadium, let's not lose the 8th Wonder of the World and the centerpiece of the Texas State Fair.

Besides, there are plans for the Astrodome to be renovated into a movie studio or hotel (the later I think is best) and no one should touch the Cotton Bowl. The Fair and Red River Rivalry wouldn't be the same.

Sorry, but Texas Stadium was not a landmark. Texas Stadium looked worse than the Astrodome.

What does that have to do with anything? This is what I'm talking about. People just say things that have nothing to do with this thread.

How many of you dome-bashers grew up in Houston? More specifically, how many of you grew up going to see games and music events at the dome? You see, I don't sit here going "tear down the Cotton Bowl, it's an eyesore, worthless scrap etc."... because I didn't grow up in Dallas. However I don't overlook the possibility that to someone who did grow up there, it might have some historical significance. Why don't you people focus on destroying what you see as an "eyesore" in your own city? What do you care what Houston does with it's own buildings? Seriously.
